Superb accommodation! I used this place as I was performing at Buxton Opera House and it's within 10 mins from the centre and train station. There is plenty of on street parking for those driving. I arrived very late (around 11pm) and I called the staff earlier to let them know in advance and they provided me with how to check in (this was before I even paid so they are clearly very trusting). The room was affordable, homely, very clean and had very comfortable beds. I would very much recommend the Compton Guest House.

Lovely, comfortable, Victorian house which has many original features. We booked 3 ensuite rooms for 3 adults plus 1 dog on 17th June tor 1 night. Very friendly young chap showed us the rooms, explained about breakfast and everything else we needed to know, and then left us to it, explaining that if we needed anything, to just ask. Great, we all hate being fussed over. We settled in well and all had a good night's sleep in very comfortable beds. Spotlessly clean bedrooms and bathrooms which, although a bit of a squeeze in parts, had all that you need from a bathroom. Enjoyed the breakfast, (cereals, toast, croissants, fruit and nuts), and liked the self service element. (Again, don't like being fussed over). All in all, a home from home and an enjoyable stay. Easy parking too.

Beaut guest house, lovely staff. Decorated beautifully throughout with modern rooms and the most comfortable bed. Lots of tea and coffee on hand in the room, as well as a selection of toiletrys being available in the bathroom. We had a room with a shared bathroom, which was not a problem what so ever, the whole place was pristine and absolutely spotless. Everything you need is just down to the road. Lovely selection of pubs, bars shops and restaurants all within walking distance. Excellent stay for the price, will defo be returning. They were so accommodating for my friends dog, such a lovely place to stay. We had the best time during our stay and so glad we visited for the night.

A true gem! A very decent guest house run by family owners, rooms are super cosy and neat, they offer double and triple room occupancy, the double bedroom we had, had its own private bathroom. Would definitely recommend this place for a calm stay in while you are visiting Buxton and peak district!

The stairs are exhausting if on the top floor, we were in room 7, ensuite. Beware the parking fuhrer at Braemar down the road, thinks he owns the space in front of his guest house while he has ample parking for guests on his drive. I moved my car as he looked the type to damage it if I didnt. Parking is limited outside Compton GH. Very comfortable bed although very high, beautiful but small ensuite but we loved our stay. Breakfast would be an amazing addition! Pooch friendly too, bonus!

Beautiful, really spacious room, nicely decorated. Everything was clean and the bed and sheets were really comfortable. The property felt cosy and smelled pleasant. Kettle and plenty of tea and coffee were provided. The bathroom was also really nice and a good size. Good location, closed to the town centre and some nice walking trails. Didn’t have any issues with noise levels, couldn’t hear the other guests on our floor from our room. Checked in ourselves using the instructions we got by email so didn’t actually interact with any staff during our stay, which wasn’t an issue. Only complaint is that wifi signal wasn’t very good in our room.
